Interested in a career in manufacturing?

FAB Fridays (and occasionally Thursdays!) at Helena College Airport Campus (2300 Airport Road) will give you a chance to experience first-hand the Fun of Fabrication.

From 9 a.m. to noon, at the Airport Campus:

  • Learn “What is Metal Fabrication?” by participating in a Welding Demonstration.
  • Find out “Why use Solid Works?” in the computer lab.
  • Explore “What is Machining?’’ and get your hands on a lathe.
  • Experience “How programming is used in Fabrication” by using your choice of CNC or 3D Printing equipment.
  • Participate in a Fanuc Robotic Arm demonstration.

After a lunch break, come to Boeing Helena or Pioneer Aeronautics (directions will be provided at Helena College), where you’ll be treated to a 90-minute tour of the facility to see how the skills you’ve seen demonstrated are put to work making aviation parts.

Groups of more than five students from one school must be accompanied by a high school staff member (substitute teacher costs will be reimbursed).
We will schedule on first-come basis, with a maximum of 20 students per day.

Available dates are:

  • November 3
  • November 30
  • December 1
  • February 2
  • March 1
  • March 2
  • April 6
