Helena College to host Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities for Year Seven Evaluation

The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) will perform a comprehensive evaluation visit to Helena College on April 10-12, 2024. During the visit, an NWCCU evaluation team will meet with students, faculty, staff, and leadership to evaluate HC’s compliance with NWCCU accreditation standards and policies. The visit will be informed by HC’s Year Seven Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness Report, submitted in mid-February, 2024.

Prior to this evaluation visit, members of the public may provide comment on Helena College’s qualifications for accreditation. To be considered, all comments must be signed and delivered to NWCCU by March 31, 2024. All relevant signed comments will be shared with the institution and the NWCCU evaluation team.

The NWCCU last reaffirmed accreditation of Helena College in 2017 and the College’s Year Six Policies, Regulations, and Financial Review was accepted by the NWCCU in 2023.

Helena College is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). The NWCCU is an independent, non-profit, membership-driven organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation to accredit postsecondary institutions of higher education in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and British Columbia, along with other domestic and international geographic areas.
